- Cleanup the Gaslamp. The sidewalks are grimy and disgusting, bums, druggies and the smell of urine and feces are everywhere. You have illegal hotdog vendors blocking sidewalks, mentally ill people walking around half naked screaming and waving their arms, cars racing the streets, revving and with illegal exhaust modifications. We no longer have a safe pedestrian walkway. Millions wasted on the “Gaslamp Promenade” studies and manual bollards (to save money vs. automatic) and now they’re gone.
