- Coming off Carroll Canyon Rd onto Maya Linda Rd, there is a speed limit saying 25mph immediately upon turning onto the street, then halfway down the hill before it turns into Gold Coast Dr, there is another sign designating a speed of 15mph in the sharp turn left in transition to Gold Coast Dr. However, after the "15mph turn sign" there is no more speed limit sign at all on the street on the right-hand/North side. People speed down the road because it's a straightaway connecting to the popular Black Mountain Rd and don't have a speed limit to reference. You can see a cut down sign post in front of Mira Monte Apartments on the block between Mira Monte and Parklane Apts on the north side of the street. There probably used to be a speed limit sign there. Regardless, there should be two signs, one right after the tight turn that merges Maya Linda Rd into Gold Coast, and then another sign about halfway down the street near Miramar College Parking lot entrance where the Police Academy is, as a reminder to drivers.
